Have you ever wanted to own a piece of history? To fly one of the legends of the sky?
I am looking for people in the Ft. Lewis area that would be interested in building a kit plane together. The plane will be the historic Fokker Dr1 Tri-plane of WWI fame and will be painted to match the colors of the famous “Red Barron”, Manfred von Richthofen.
The kit will be purchased in stages. As one sub kit is completed, the next one will be ordered to help keep the upfront costs to a minimum. The total cost is estimated to be around $17,000 and sub kits can be purchased for as little as $200. The builders will be partial owners of the airplane and will have full access to fly it after the break in period has been flown off.
I will not purchase the first sub kit until I have 3 other people who are interested so sign up early. I invite all that are interested to join in on the build even if you don’t want to own or fly the completed plane.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a couple of WWI replica planes to give those RV guys a run for their money?
